"Paradigm Golf Group, with a string of public courses in the Sunbelt, is another management group making a big play for golfers who want swing pointers and steady practice. The company sets up booths at local street fairs and even at off-course golf stores, dispensing two-for-one intro offers on range use and rounds of golf. Golfers who present the two-fer certificates at the course are then up-sold to range loyalty cards.
“We sold 1,200 of those cards at our two Palm Beach courses,” says Joe Dahlstrom, a principal in Paradigm. “The golfer pays $199 to get into the program, but the way it's structured, the card pays for itself pretty quickly. For us, it's range revenue, it's a traffic builder, and it separates us from the competition.”
